2011 Charity Event supporting the North Shore Black Bear Society
This year, on December 31st, 2011, we had a fun and well supported recycling event where all proceeds collected were donated to the North Shore Black Bear Society.
We would like to thank all of the public, and our volunteers, who came to recycle their Christmas Wrapping, Styrofoam, Plastic Wrapping and more. More than 200 people came with boxes and bags full of these materials, and helped us fill two large recycling trucks with materials that would have otherwise gone to the landfill.
$966.00 was raised and given to the North Shore Black Bear Society to help towards education and promoting bear conservation and awareness efforts here on the North Shore.
This was a particularly good time to support the society, considering the current plan to implement curbside organics recycling to North Shore residents later this year.
